WHO IS MR. COHEN?I was raised in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and attended Bensalem schools until I moved to Central Bucks at the end of my freshman year of high school. At Valley Elementary School I was placed into the SIP program under the guidance and instruction of Mrs. Monica Welch. At the beginning of my 6th grade year I said goodbye to my elementary friends and transitioned to Shafer Middle School. Having been taught my Mrs. Anna Hentz and Mrs. Janine Daniels, it is an honor to come back home and once more become a part of the program that helped to shape the person I am today.
After graduating from Neshaminy High School in 2002, I began my college studies at the University of Pittsburgh with a major in psychology. After one year at UoP, I transferred to West Chester where I completed my studies and received a B.S.Ed in English in 2007. Over the next several years, I attended Cabrini University where I worked towards my reading specialist certificate, ultimately earning my M.Ed. After graduating from West Chester in 2007, I was hired as an English teacher at Bensalem High School. Ultimately, after two years at the high school, I moved to Snyder Middle School where I have spent the last 7 years teaching both reading and writing. I am excited to continue my career at Shafer Middle School teaching GT Humanities and Writing. In 2009, my son Max was born, and in 2014, Maya joined our little family. When I'm not simultaneously tearing my hair out and feeling my heart grow from the pain and joy of raising an 8 year old and a 3 year old, I enjoy reading, drawing, coloring, writing, and bingeing Netflix. I am an avid comic book reader and my collection is steadily growing. Also, I will argue to no end as to why I believe DC produces better comics than Marvel!
